Rather than a larger hard drive, have you considered a SSD for your main hard drive? Typical fast hd access times are around 8ms, typical ssd access times are around 0.2ms. They tend to lose out a little in bandwidth and write speed against the fastest drives and they will cost a good bit more. The link below should give you an idea of what's possible though. Security keeps viruses and threats out; and maintenance keeps your system flush. Send me an IM on jackal_sbcc and I will get more specific if you like.
