What’s the best hosting company for my website?

Min Requirements: unix,php,mysql,phpmyadmin,cpanel,pop3, 70GB of disc space, 2GB ram, SSL cert for ecommerce, get about 30k visits/mo, 639 kb/s and 186GB/mo used. I’m currently paying 0/mo for a dedicated server, but it’s an old box, slow and too expensive. Important to have support who monitors server status/updates and they will fix if it ever goes down and will notify me with email communication. Any hosts you recommend?

Last month my company started work on this person’s website which sells awards and trophies. We made a deal with him. It was a 00 sale for me.

On the contract, he didnt want web hosting with us. Let me back up, he wanted to turn his normal website into a e-Commerce website which requires a dedicated server. We run other client’s sites on dedicated servers. He refused saying he has sites all on network solutions website and he doesnt want to change hosts.

We asked him various times if he is running windows 2003 and dedicated server. Network solutions we later found out doesnt run either.

So about a month, we were working on his site which is bs because he didnt

So back and forth we were also trying to figure out his name server because he bought his name server overseas which is stupid. Now I had to keep explaining to him why we cant work on his site because he has to have his name server pointing to us and we need his ftp login information so we can upload files to his site. He is so ignorant of all this.

Today I called him saying we need to move his site over to our server because network solution doesnt allow us to install sitegalaxy onto network solution. Then he got upset and said " just give us all the images your company has done for us", " we are done working with you , it seems that you guys are not capable of doing the work we asked "…etc

I said I will contact him later today.

First off, we did finish his site . We gave him access to his own administrative control panel so he can upload the images and files himself.

What we are trying to do is turn his site online by replacing it with a site he has now.

What we are going to do is trick him by having a redirect routing pointing to our server when he assumes that hes actually going to his server.

So whose fault is this? What have we done wrong?

I keep telling him that Im just the messenger for my boss and dont blame me because I dont want this to be added to my resume when i find another job in the future.

Btw, is market manager worth mentioning in my resume when it has no experience with networking?

1. He did mention he did not want our hosting. We told him that he needs to get dedicated server. He says why not use our network solution hosting we have? We told him its not dedicated because e-Commerce sites need larger space but he kept ignoring and said just use ours. So we just continued work.

2. He didnt pay all. He said once his site is online then he will pay the remaining cost which is 0.

Right now, we are trying to figure out how to get his site up and running using network solution’s web host which is 100 gigs.

We redirect just to get his site up and running and move on. Its giving everyone on our company headaches.
Helpful person , let me explain some things to you . First, go back to college and learn to read.
We did check network solutions. They dont offer dedicated servers. Period. We told the client numerous times, he still did not understand. We offered him to let us host it since we use dedicated servers, no budge.

No, we want to host the site because we do 24/7 backup, free debugging, free antivirus, if anything happens to the site, we can fix it right away. Thats also our maintence combination. Plus, if he has any graphics that needs changing like vacation notice, we can change it for free, no charge.

We did find out what operation system they use. Its linux and windows. I told him that he needs to use windows, he says " we’ll i’ll buy you a windows pro package"..which doesnt help , its not dedicated.

His name server is at oznic which is switzerland. We gotten no response from them about this issue as of yet.

We are professional. We have over 60+ clients from americasmart.com

Should I pay $50/month for web hosting?

Hi, I am running an eCommerce business that requires a regular web server with PHP and databases. I know most of the popular hosts out there charge /month for stuff like this.

But this particular company (not going to mention the name or else Yahoo might think this is an advertisement), says that they have more than 500,000 websites hosted, is specialized in business web hosting, guarantees 100% uptime, has 24/7 customer support, and basically says that they are "premium business hosting" and their pitch is that for /month you get the best quality hosting for your business (compared to -8/month).

This is NOT dedicated server hosting. Just regular web hosting, but they have everything.

Is this worth it? Would you do it for your business?

Advice and suggestions on web hosting companies?

I’ve been looking for a webhost to host 3 different sties I have under 1 plan. I don’t need a dedicated server or anything big and fancy (yet).

I use Yahoo now for one of my sites but they don’t support hosting multiple domains on one plan. That is a must for me.

So far I’m considering BlueHost, DreamHost, and IPowerWeb. Any thoughts on them? Are there any other hosts I should consider?

Are there any good web hosting catalogs with user reviews? I looked for user reviews web hosting providers and I didn’t have much luck.

I just started with a Virtual-Dedicated Server yesterday, created my cpanel account, created my ftp account, logged in, and uploaded some files to my public_html directory. However, when I try viewing anything I’ve uploaded (by going to http://server-ip/file_name in a browser), I get a "Not found" error! My FTP program says the files are there, and cpanel’s file-manager says they’re there, but my browser can’t view them! Any suggestions on what I’m doing wrong?

My index page is still the default cpanel-place-holder page, even though I uploaded a new index.html. My domain name hasn’t been changed yet to the new server, so I’m trying to view my site by typing in its IP address into the browser, rather than its domain name.

Additionally if it helps, cpanel said:

"The hostname (box.my-domain.com) resolves to . It should resolve to "my-ip". Please be sure to correct /etc/hosts as well as the ‘A’ entry in zone file for the domain."

Thanks for reading my question.

I'm looking for a cheap web host with a dedicated IP address that is located in the United States. I was going to go with Galaxy visions but upon dealing with their sales/support staff I realized they were a VERY small company that could fold overnight. There is a sea of hosts out there, but not many in the United States that offer dedicated IP addresses for a good price…any suggestions?

Shared web hosting or Dedicated?

I run four sites (soon one more) and I'm paying around a year to host each of them. I notice that the speeds aren't crash hot, but neither is the price I'm paying for them. The speed isn't an issue but for one site, though the new site I'm starting will need decent speeds to keep up. Storage on both services is plenty, so speed is my only concern.

Is dedicated hosting (ie, one box that hosts all my sites) worth the 0 p/m cost, or are there cheaper alternatives for comparable speeds? I don't want to commit to something that expensive without knowing if I'm going overboard. Alternatives (or recommended dedicated hosts) welcome :)
