Best personal web server host?

I’m looking for a host for my one domain name. I’d like a dedicated IP, but not 100% necessary.
Under 6$/month would be nice.

Any suggestions?

Domain Names and Shared Web Hosting?

I’m fairly new with choosing web hosts on the web and as a web designer, I’m having various clients in different hosting services, some better or worse than others but they become difficult for me to handle.

I was thinking about using 1 account on a clustered/grid servers to manage all websites at once, but I’m unsure of how I’ll be able to sort out the domain names or if I’ll only be able to use one.

If I’m only able to ensue 1 domain name, can you please refer me to a host/service that could help me?

P.S. The hosts I was looking at were myriadnetwork and mediatemple.

Hi,

I use bluehost as my web hosting service which supports multiple dimains. I’v started my first website with my primary domain name domain1.com over 3 months. Lately I purchased another domain name in the name of domain2.com via bluehost.

How can I create a new folder on my file manager section to upload my new web pages on my domain2.com?

BlueHost support team told me refer to addon section to do that. But when doing their instructions a subdomain in the same name of domain2 is created as a subdomain of domain1! When I remove this sub-domain, the contents of my domain2.com is also deleted.

How can I create a folder to upload my web pages at my second domain, without creating a sub-domain with same name on my primary domain name?

Since the contents of my second website is different from my first website, I don’t want to have its contents on my first site, specially its managing will be confusing!

Thanks

Can yahoo web hosting support more than one domain name?

Can I manage more than one domain name with only one yahoo web hosting account?
Example: Can I manage awsssome.com, wdfef.net, asfagfa.com with only one YAHOO WEB HOSTING account?

Yahoo Web Hosting for Photography..Good Idea?

Hi, I currently have my own photography website through BetterPhoto.com, and am quite sick and tired of the glitches and nuances revolving around it.
I saw the promo ad for Yahoo Web Hosting, and the unlimited pages immediately caught my attention. I’m not a proffesional photographer, just a hobbyist, therefore I don’t need a fancy-shmancy website design…basically all I’m looking for is a site layout that is easy on the eyes, allows unlimited pages so I can add as many galleries as I wish, and to have the ability for people to comment on each picture, and contact me.
I’m thinking along the lines of looking something like my MySpace’s Photo Galleries, but being solely dedicated to my passion for photography, plus having a customize domain name?

Is Yahoo Web Hosting something that would suit me?
Thanks for any/all input =)
Ok, I appreciate all the input on the other sites, and I know there are multiple other options out there, too…but I’m only interested in finding out about the Yahoo Web hosting….preferably from somebody that is currently using it, or has used it in the past. Pros, cons…the typical run down from a first hand experienced user of it. Thanks =)

I want to register a private domain but don’t know what company to get. Yahoo is a dedicate server that i trust a lot. Because i want my domain name to be, .com and info. I heard that godaddy is very cheap but i never used it before and don’t even know it. I am newbie at this ok, so once i buy my domain name how do i use it on cpanel 11. I am using private, because it seems like its more secured and keeps your personal information non visible to public, and i want to have that domain name for multiple years, but then i will buy more domain names. So in conclusion my question is, what is the cheapest between yahoo and godady and what is more reliable and secured.

I just started with a Virtual-Dedicated Server yesterday, created my cpanel account, created my ftp account, logged in, and uploaded some files to my public_html directory. However, when I try viewing anything I’ve uploaded (by going to http://server-ip/file_name in a browser), I get a "Not found" error! My FTP program says the files are there, and cpanel’s file-manager says they’re there, but my browser can’t view them! Any suggestions on what I’m doing wrong?

My index page is still the default cpanel-place-holder page, even though I uploaded a new index.html. My domain name hasn’t been changed yet to the new server, so I’m trying to view my site by typing in its IP address into the browser, rather than its domain name.

Additionally if it helps, cpanel said:

"The hostname (box.my-domain.com) resolves to . It should resolve to "my-ip". Please be sure to correct /etc/hosts as well as the ‘A’ entry in zone file for the domain."

Thanks for reading my question.
