There are some TV series I wanna watch on the internet but I dont know where. Are there any? Those that dont need downloading?

I live in an apartment building facing a side where I cant hook up a satellite dish and watch it. I want to watch international tv, and im aware of some people who have some types of recievers that are plugged into the computer and into the television. What would my best bet be?

My TV is broken and I was wondering if there was a way to watch TV on my computer? I know I can watch videos or pre-recorded TV shows but I want to actually watch shows as they are going on.
