They will give you some headphones during the flight. They are no different than the cheapest ones you can buy for a laptop. Usually at the gate they have a bin of better ones. They are on the honor system but the sign suggests you donate whatever in the box…… just stuff in a dollar. They are a bit bigger and more comfortable. You could go to Best Buy or whatnot and buy a travel pair but in most cases the little plugs that come with them are useless. You would be fine with the free ones.
The remote is in the armrest connected to a cord like a wired phone. That control handles movies, radio, games, etc. It is an all in one kind of thing.
But by all means take time to look around you and appreciate the fact that you are on your first flight. Watch the crew, other people around you, the experienced travelers and if you get lucky you may have somebody next to you who is interesting to talk to. I have traveled all of my life and I am always amazed at who I might meet that I might never meet otherwise. So don’t be so fast to jump into the radio.
Have fun!
