Direct TV, Dish network or Cox Cable?
what is the best choice overall with special consideration to price. I’ve always just had regular cable and had many wonders about satellite for example how often does the sat go out during storms etc. What kind of contract am I getting into. Is satellite really the way to go? If so which company? I’m wanting HD tv also.
I see alot of "free this free that" but then it says in small text it’s only for 6 months. do you have to sign a contract for like a year comittment or anything?

We’ve had Direct TV for about 5 years now.. and the only time it’s gone ‘out’ was when we lost all of our electric, which was the result of a transformer blow-up. Other than that, it’s been great!
We only pay $54/mo.. we opted-out of the HBO’s, Cinemax’s, etc.. we’re not big ‘movie’ people…
If you get someone to refer you, you each get $10 off your bill for 6 months… ask friends and family members….
I’ve been on DirectTV HD w/HD-DVR for a few months now and the picture and reliability has been better than I expected. I’ve had issues on occasion where the sound is out of synch with pic on HD, but just changing the channel fixes it. Thats the only problem I’ve ever noticed. I’ve done pay per view a few times too online and that’s easy - just bills to the account. Snow/clouds hasn’t seemed to disturb the signal at all even with snow on the dish. They do have the best channel selection for HD channels I’m pretty sure. They’re also adding another new satellite in 2008 for even more HD content I’ve heard.
