All of my local channels broadcast in HD, but I’m not sure how to pick them up with my new TV… help?

I just bought a TV and got satellite (regular, not HD)…and I read that from my area that all of the local channels broadcast in HD as well. My satellite offers HD, but I really don’t feel like dishing out the 0 bucks for all 35 channels when all I really want is just the four locals. Someone mentioned I could buy something and it would retrieve them from the air….
If it exists, what is this "something" and where might I get it? How much might it be? Thank you!!!

To get HDTV local channels you need a HDTV and a HDTV antenna.
You won’t see HD without a HD tv set.
